Class News

Our initial aim is to generate issues and topics related to education and society.

Our approach to this aim will take us first to the work of Charles Sanders Peirce. In his extensive logical studies, Peirce developed a theory of signification that anticipated many features of modern semiotics, emphasizing the role of the interpreting subject.

We will next take a look at constructivism as a philosophical orientation and teaching practice.

Guilford students recently completed their introductory training in using the class electronic discussion forum. Everyone survived the training, and the discussion forum is already becoming a lively place!

A&T students will be joining in the discussion soon after completing much the same training on their campus.

Both classes will soon be posting self-introduction webpages to this website.
