Prof. Peterson has presented at intermational and national meetings of the American Musicological Society, the Arts and Letters Conference, College Music Society, the Association for Technology in Music Instruction, The Getty Center for Education in the Arts, International Society for Music Education, Mechlin National Conference on Videodiscs, Music Curriculum and Current Technology, National Association of Schools of Music, Opera America, and National Opera Association.

CONSULTATIONS/ADVISORY POSITIONS

Prof. Peterson has consulted for projects at the University of Wisconsin, Texas Christian University, Pennsylvania State University, Dartmouth College, University of Georgia, Appalachian State University, North Texas State University, and Indiana University. Currently he is the computer consultant for the Presbyterian Association of Musicians where he has taught computer classes for church musicians attending summer conferences at Montreat, NC, and New Wilmington, PA.

Abstract of Presentation
This presentation will demonstrated how PowerPoint is used to teach music history, how CD TIME SKETCH is used to teach music analysis in music appreciation and music history courses, and how multimedia lessons generated with ToolBook software using CDs and laserdiscs are used to teach opera appreciation courses.
